Jesus Surf Classic 2024 – CANCELLED

The 32nd Jesus Surf Classic which was originally scheduled for September 2024 and was then rescheduled for weekend of 10th 11th May 2025, after taking advice, and studying swell charts, we believe there is no option but to sadly cancel the event altogether.

It is with disappointment that we announce this, however even though there may be a few hours of surfable waves perhaps on Saturday there is certainly nowhere near a full weekend of contestable waves which we would need to complete the contest with over 140 competitors registered.

A note from Phil Williams, Contest Director:

“On a personal level as it will be my last Jesus Surf classic after 32 years in the role of Christian Surfers National Director, its hugely disappointing but the event was there to serve the surfing community, and without waves we couldn’t possibly do that. We will be considering whether we run any type of Jesus Surf Classic event later on in 2025 but it will be a separate event with any entries open from scratch.”

OPTIONS FOR COMPETITORS

We have contacted all competitors via the email address they registered with on LiveHeats. The options are as follows:

A) If you would like your competition T-shirt then we could send that to you in the post, and would take £10 off your refund, if you want to do this it would certainly help us as a small charity, these costs certainly mount up when we have to cancel. Contact office@christiansurfers.co.uk if this is your preferred option, within the next 7 days please.

B) If you didn’t want your T-shirt then no need to contact us, and we will try and get a refund to you in the next two weeks less the admin charge from LiveHeats.

We would like to thank all volunteers, stakeholders and competitors for their support and interest – the surf community is a very special community and you get to meet the nicest people. Once again, many apologies from the team at CSUK, but as you can imagine it was not an easy decision as would love to have held the event.

A few of the volunteer team will be celebrating at the contest site on the beach at Croyde on Saturday evening in case you are around and want to join us from 6 pm onwards.
