Jesus Longboard Classic – IT’S ON

22-23 APRIL 2023, POLZEATH

This weekend’s Jesus Longboard Classic is called ON and are looking forward to seeing all competitors for registration at the slightly later time of 8:30am on Saturday morning 22 April, at the Tubestation, Polzeath, PL27 6TB

Because there are only semi-finals in the 60+ category, these will be scheduled for finals day on Sunday 23 April, so no need for these competitors to turn up until Sunday morning at 8:00am, unless also in another category.

At registration each competitor will be able to pick up the contest T-shirt, voucher for a Tubestation breakfast each day, as well as the programme and a wax comb from 10 Over Surf Shop.

Conditions do look tricky and we realise that they will be small throughout the weekend, but we also believe they will be contestable and, after taking advice and in discussion with our partners as well as Surf Line, we believe that we can hold a real fun event which I know is what the longboard community very much look forward to.

This weekend we see spring tides and therefore on the drop we will be monitoring conditions, particularly on Saturday, but the good news is as it pushes up we could well see a jump in the size – all part of the fun for the contest director!

A huge thank you to our sponsors without whom we could not put on this event and these include : Nineplus, Finisterre, George’s Surf School, Ocean Frog, Kosin and 10 Over Surf Shop, and not forgetting the Tubestation for their amazing hospitality throughout the weekend.

We will be looking at the draw with head judge David Renyard and once finalised we will publish this on the various social media outlets tomorrow afternoon (Friday 21 April):

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all, and I know the volunteers from Christian Surfers UK are also looking forward to laying on a really fun and enjoyable contest for all concerned.

Finally also a big thanks to Era Adventures for their water safety cover, Cornwall Council for allowing us to use the beach, and of course the surfers of Polzeath for sharing the waves with us over the weekend.
