ALL OTHER CATEGORIES REARRANGED FOR 8-9 OCTOBER
Unfortunately, after studying the charts, taking advice from our friends in surf forecasting organisations, and checking in with the local surf community, we do not believe at this stage that there is enough surf to be able to run all age categories in good contestable conditions over the course of one weekend. This is a huge disappointment as we really wanted to celebrate in style, with one event, and having the skate park set up, and everything else that goes along with the contest; however, we are working with nature and therefore our aim now is to make the best calls for the competitors who we are here to serve.
ALL COMPETITORS AND VOLUNTEERS SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL so please check your junk folders and then email office@christiansurfers.co.uk if you have not received it
UNDER 14s, UNDER 12s
Therefore, we have decided that we will run the Under 12s and Under 14s categories as a one-day event on Saturday 17 September, with check in at 8 am, as we believe there will be enough contestable surf to run a really good one-day competition.
In order to make it a real grom fest, we are planning to split the mixed under 12s and the mixed under 14s into separate girls and boys categories. There are places available and you can still enter via this link https://www.christiansurfers.co.uk/register/jsc22/
The entry fee includes a special 30th anniversary tee shirt and a comemmorative mug
Sadly, the skate park will not be there (if you have entered the competition we will refund your fees) but there will still be lots of refreshments and a really good competition atmosphere.
NEW DATE FOR UNDER 16s, BOYS UNDER 18, GIRLS UNDER 18, MEN’S OPEN, WOMEN’S OPEN, 35+
We have also been working hard and now have a re-run date of 8-9 October at Croyde Bay for the following categories: Under 16s, Under 18 boys, Under 18 girls, Men’s Open, Women’s Open, 35+. If you are unable to make that new date, please email office@christiansurfers.co.uk and we will, of course, refund your fees.
We are determined to celebrate our 30th anniversary in style with good contestable waves in all divisions, so are disappointed on this occasion for the older categories, but excited to be seeing the groms down at the beach on Saturday.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who will be supporting the event along with local churches; Parkdean for hosting it; and the RNLI and other partner organisations for their involvement.
