OA Surf Lodge, Widemouth Bay
Why? We thought it would be good to gather a group of guys, who are interested in surfing and all things ocean oriented for some surf, conversation and sharing of faith journeys.
Who is it for? Any guys really, either CS members or others, who would benefit from a relaxed time together enjoying the environment and a re-charge amongst like-minded individuals.
Where is it? We have booked OA Surf Lodge (oasurfclub.co.uk) near Widemouth Bay, Bude. This is an incredible facility with great accommodation, shared areas for relaxation including a bar area, an outdoors area and even direct access to a reef break!
What is included? The opportunity to meet with and share life/faith stories with others who are fellow travellers on this sometimes tricky journey of life. A chance to stop, reflect, have conversation (deep or frivolous), meet with God, pray together, dig deeper, and feel enriched and hopefully equipped for the road ahead. A good breakfast each day, water-based activities (surfing hopefully, with surf hire available locally), a home-cooked meal Friday night and Saturday night pub curry are included.
What will it cost? The cost for two nights’ accommodation, food and time together is £145 per head. If finance is a real barrier to you coming, please do get in touch and we can see what we can do. Bring your own drinks to stock the bar, or to share with others.
When is it? Friday 3rd November to Sunday 5th November.
Who is leading the weekend? This is a weekend enabled by Christian Surfers UK, the idea developed by an eclectic group of men; Ben Lillie, Andy Holter, Kyle Skilton, David Renyard, Mike Arnold and Rob Crouch, whilst chatting in a pub in Georgeham. We feel it is important to provide a space for men to meet, to be honest, to explore what life is about and what God and his creation has to teach us.
