Croyde Bay, North Devon
2021 JESUS SURF CLASSIC, 2 – 3 OCTOBER COMPETITOR UPDATE THURSDAY 1PM 30 SEPTEMBER.
It is great to confirm that the remaining five categories for this weekend’s 29th Jesus Surf Classic will be running, and we are very excited to be able to welcome you to Croyde Bay.
Check in will be 8:00 am Saturday morning in the main marquee which will be situated on the car park owned by Ruda at Croyde Burrows, EX33 1NP. Parking here will cost £12 for the whole day, and overnight parking is not permitted. There is a National Trust car park a 10 minute walk away; this is free to NT members or £8 for the day https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/baggy-point
We anticipate having the first heat in the water around 8.30am and will post the running order on social media on Friday afternoon or early evening at latest: Facebook: Jesus Surf Series UK; Instagram: Christiansurfersuk
In order to assist competitor planning we have decided we will be holding all the Women’s U18 and Women’s Open heats on Sunday, so there is no need for you to turn up on Saturday and we look forward to welcoming you on Sunday morning, 8am check in. This will be most probably at Croyde; however, if conditions dictate, we may move to Putsborough, but this will be confirmed on Saturday.
Covid 19 precautions
Please bring with you confirmation of a negative lateral flow test taken no more than 24 hours before you first arrive on site – https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result We can, if need be, provide testing kits on site, but would ideally prefer you to do the test beforehand. We plan to have the marquee with refreshments and the BBQ, so if it is very wet you will have a place to shelter. We are encouraging anyone entering the main marquee to have a mask on whilst indoors.
It has been a tricky week of surf predictions and indeed weather, and we would like to thank, in particular, the Met Office and Surfline for helping with our updates. Thanks also to Parkdean for hosting us, the great bunch of volunteers from CSUK and local churches, and obviously most importantly, you the surfers and your support crew. Any last-minute questions, do not hesitate to contact
