A Vision For Holy Collaboration

Hey there, how are you doing? I’m so glad you’re here.

Can I invite you to take 10 minutes to rest, grab your beverage of choice, and breathe as I share with you my sense of God’s leading, and the direction of Christian Surfers UK for this next season. During 2024 our Trustee body, capably led by Rob Crouch launched a ‘Future Dreaming’ process that invited our community to pray, dream and speak into what CSUK might look like, feel like, smell & taste like in 10 years time. From this process and the prayers and dreams of our community (That’s YOU), 4 key areas repeatedly emerged;

CSUK Local Communities = People

Growth & Development = Purpose

Events & Competitions = Presence

Enabling & Equipping = Process

To me, these 4 key areas speak to People, Purpose, Presence, Process. Come on! What did you expect? Once a preacher always a preacher! This timely, strategic and collaborative Future Dreaming process has led us to better define who we are and what we sense God calling us into for the coming years. Have a look back at the preceding page. This renewed and refreshed sense of Mission and Vision is gathered in what I’m calling our ‘Vision for Holy Collaboration.’ As I’ve prayed, waited and reflected on this process God has been his usual outrageously generous self and has led me to 5 short statements of purpose that run-in tandem with our Vision for Holy Collaboration.

I’ll lay out these tandem tracks here, including some biblical reference points for you to dig into – yup, I’ve set you a little bit of homework. You might find some of the Bible references slightly more abstract. My intention is to look at the heart of the passage, the intention of the passage, what action does it lead us to take when absorbed into our lives?

For Christian Surfers UK to engage fully in our refreshed vision, we need the support of our community (once again, that’s YOU). So, I’d like to invite you on a journey to Holy Collaboration and Partnership. When it comes to membership – it’s beautifully simple. Firstly, if this is your community and we are your people, you’re in! Secondly, members are people who turn up, give of themselves and receive from others, as I said – beautifully simple.

Over the coming months I’ll be sharing further details of our mission, plans, events and financial budget, after all this is our shared CSUK. I’ll also be inviting you to become a Partner or Supporter with us so that we can develop sustainable funding that enables CSUK to plan for fruitful outcomes. I’m not saying cancel your membership! I’m encouraging you to enter into partnership. As an example, If you pay £20 per year for membership, maybe I could encourage to start a £3 per month partnership? And if you’d like to give more than £3 a month, we welcome that too! If your financial situation makes monthly donations unrealistic, you are welcome to support CSUK through one off gifts. And if your money is already overstretched, you are welcome here just as you are- All are welcome.

There is so much to look forward to in 2026 and beyond. I thank you for your faithful prayers and support. If there is anything you’d like to talk to me about, I’d love to hear from you.
