In conjunction with sponsors and partners organising the Jesus Longboard Classic 2022, we have unfortunately decided that due to the predicted stormy conditions for this weekend (1& 2 October) this very popular event will be postponed until the 29 & 30 October at the same venue.
With over 85 competitors already booked in, there is a full two days’ worth of surfing to get through, and with some of the conditions predicted to be pretty stormy, especially on Saturday afternoon, and the fact that this competition is a celebration of longboard surfing as well as the community, it was decided that there would be some categories that would struggle with the high waves and strong onshore winds.
The decision was not made easily but was taken in conjunction with the Tubestation, Surfline, and Era Water Safety, as well as the other stakeholders, but we are very excited to be welcoming everybody back to the Tubestation at the end of October, for a weekend of fun and hospitality from our friends at Tubestation.
We realise that with any change of date there will sadly be some people who cannot make the new one, and, of course, in this instance we will refund your entry fee. Please contact us at office@christiansurfers.co.uk ideally within the next week to arrange this.
Depending on the number of people unable to make the new date, spaces may become available in those categories which are currently full. Those already on the reserve list will be notified If this is the case, and anyone wishing to be added to the reserve list can do so via the registration form (no payment required unless offered a space)
A huge thank you to all our sponsors this year including Finisterre, Nineplus, Old Guy’s Rule, Kosin, George’s Surf School, Log fin Co, and Ocean Frog.
We believe it is far better to organise a competition where everybody can enjoy themselves as opposed to turning the event into a bit of a paddle battle, with some really tough conditions.
