Role: Proofreading articles for Second Day

Involves: Proofreading approximately 20 articles, twice a year in June/July and November/December
Qualities needed:
Good level of skill in written English (grammar, spelling, punctuation)
Good eye for detail
Working knowledge of Word
Ability to meet deadlines

Further details:
Articles for Second Day are submitted twice a year by a variety of contributors. The role would be to proofread these for any grammatical errors and to ensure that they fit the House style for consistency purposes. Articles would be proofed and returned by email.

Role: Carrying out event related admin tasks

Involves: Compiling rotas, merging labels ready for printing, compiling stock lists, data inputting
Qualities needed:
Computer literate
Good eye for detail
Ability to meet deadlines

Further details:
Quite a bit of admin is generated by the various events that CSUK runs. The role would involve assisting the Administrator by using information provided to produce, for example, spreadsheets, labels, rotas etc. Work would be via email or Google Drive

Task: Copywriting

Involves: Creating content for any of the following:, Second Day articles, Mailchimp updates, event reports, press releases, grant applications
Qualities needed:
A flair for writing with a particular audience in mind
Good level of skill in written English (grammar, spelling, punctuation)
Ability to work to deadlines

Further details:
The written word is very powerful and CSUK has a number of platforms through which it communicates. We are looking for people to bring additional creativity to help us communicate effectively with different audiences.

Task: Thought for the Month contributor

Involves: Writing Thoughts for the Month which can be banked and used throughout the year in the monthly emailed Prayer Diary
Qualities needed:
Ability to write a relevant, concise piece to encourage the Prayer Diary audience

Further details:
The emailed Prayer Diary goes to over 300 CSUK members and supporters a month. Each monthly edition begins with a short Thought that is relevant to the readers as Christians and as surfers as a way to encourage and inspire. Any Thoughts submitted would be kept and used throughout the year.
